Sherfield – still growing, still learning. As a co-educational school for children aged from 3 months up to 18
years Sherfield offers a first class, academic education within a
forward-looking and enriched curriculum.
Baby Gems is located in a home-style environment within our delightful grounds. A 21 place unit providing excellent day care for children aged between 3 months and 2 years. Baby Gems provides an innovative programme of care and learning including an introduction to modern foreign languages. Their ‘holistic’ approach to childcare and education, a concept we call ‘educare’, encourages children to grow and develop to reach their full potential.
Little GEMS continue to create a happy, stimulating learning environment. Learning from first-hand experiences exploring and investigating the world around them the children build relationships, confidence and independence providing foundations for later learning.
Moving into Pre-Reception (Age 3+) and Reception (Age 4+) their new classrooms have their own specialist facilities including ICT suite, modern foreign languages room, library, art room, food and nutrition room and dedicated playground. The curriculum is based on Communication, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Development, Knowledge and Understanding of the World (including technology), Physical Development and Creativity (art, music, sport, dance and drama). Personal, Social and Emotional Development of our children continues to remain a priority.
They have an open door policy to visit the school and ‘Introduction to Sherfield’ mornings or afternoons for tours of the school.
