www.mumandworking.co.uk – is the UK’s first online directory of
part-time jobs for full-time mums (and dads!). The site covers work you
can do from home, opportunities to work for local family-friendly
employers (term-time only contracts etc) and brings you the latest news
about training, franchise opportunities plus advice and inspiration
about setting up your own business.
The site was set-up by mum Joslyn Bellamy in Feb 2006 inspired by playground conversations with other parents about wanting to work, but also wanting to be able to take their children to school and pick them up without using childcare. Joslyn knew mums wanted to work part-time and that there must be jobs out there, but that no one had brought them together in one easy-to-use site…so www.mumandworking.co.uk began!
As well as detailing jobs the site also carries regular Career Focuses which look at an area of work in detail and publishes articles and interviews with inspirational business parents. You can also get involved with the site – become part of the ‘Tried & Tested’ panel (you could be reviewing the latest pushchair or going on a family-friendly holiday), join in with the Book Club, ask the business Agony Aunt a question or enter one of the fantastic competitions.
